MenuVision allows users to save dish photos privately and, when they choose, contribute photos to help other users better understand menu items.
This Photo Contribution Policy explains what types of photos and content are allowed, how contributed photos may be used, and when content may be rejected or removed.
1. Private Photos vs. Contributions
Private Photos
You may save dish photos privately to your own account. Private photos are intended for your own reference, subject to MenuVision's technical and security controls.
MenuVision Contributions
If you choose "Contribute to MenuVision" or a similar option, your photo may be reviewed and, if approved, added to MenuVision's shared dish photo catalog. Approved contributions may be visible to other users as representative examples of a dish.
2. What to Upload
Please upload clear, useful, food-related photos.
Good contributions include a clear photo of a dish you ordered, a photo focused mainly on the food, a photo that helps others understand the dish's appearance, a photo taken by you or that you have the right to share, and a photo that does not include personal information or identifiable people.
The best photos are well-lit, in focus, and show the dish clearly.
3. What Not to Upload
Do not upload photos that are not food or restaurant-related; photos of people, faces, children, staff, or other diners without permission; photos containing personal information, IDs, addresses, payment cards, reservation details, receipts with personal data, or private documents; screenshots, book covers, menu pages, posters, packaging, logos, or unrelated images; photos copied from the internet, social media, stock photo sites, restaurant websites, or other sources you do not own; copyrighted images you do not have permission to use; offensive, explicit, hateful, discriminatory, violent, or illegal content; misleading photos that intentionally show the wrong dish or restaurant; low-quality photos that are blurry, too dark, too cropped, or not useful; spam, repeated uploads, advertisements, or promotional content.
4. Review and Moderation
Contributed photos may be reviewed automatically, manually, or both.
We may use automated systems to check whether a photo appears to be food-related, appropriate, and free of obvious personal or unsafe content.
A contributed photo may be approved and added to the shared catalog, kept pending for review, marked as needing review, rejected, or removed later after publication.
We are not required to publish any contributed photo.
5. Public Use of Approved Contributions
If your contribution is approved, it may be shown to other MenuVision users as a representative dish photo.
Approved photos may be associated with dish name, canonical dish identity, restaurant or place context, general dish category, and approximate visual example.
We may display, resize, crop, compress, moderate, or otherwise process contributed photos to operate MenuVision.
6. Accuracy and Representative Use
Contributed photos are representative examples only.
A dish may look different depending on restaurant, chef, region, plating, ingredients, season, and preparation style. MenuVision does not guarantee that a contributed photo exactly matches what another user will receive at a restaurant.
7. Your Rights and License
You keep ownership of photos you upload.
By contributing a photo to MenuVision, you confirm that you took the photo or have the right to share it; the photo does not violate another person's rights; you grant MenuVision permission to store, process, display, and use the photo as part of the shared dish photo catalog; and the photo may help improve MenuVision's visual dish memory and user experience.
8. Removal Requests
You may request removal of a contributed photo by contacting us at giiim.company@gmail.com.
We may need information to identify the photo, such as your account, dish name, restaurant, upload date, or screenshot.
Removal from active display may not immediately remove all backups, logs, or legally retained records.
9. Reporting Content
If you see a photo that appears inappropriate, inaccurate, infringing, unsafe, or privacy-invasive, contact us at giiim.company@gmail.com.
We may review and remove content that violates this policy.
10. Enforcement
We may reject, remove, hide, or reclassify photos at any time.
We may limit, suspend, or terminate accounts that repeatedly upload prohibited content, abuse the contribution system, infringe rights, or create safety, privacy, or legal risks.
11. No Compensation
Photo contributions are voluntary. Unless we separately agree in writing, you will not receive payment, royalties, or compensation for contributing photos to MenuVision.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Photo Contribution Policy from time to time. Continued use of the contribution feature after changes become effective means you accept the updated policy.
